Saliscendi Gioia del Colle DOC Riserva 2019

"Saliscendi is a project that represents the total identification between wine and territory. This wine is made from Primitivo grapes grown in the vineyards around Masseria Donna Coletta. It takes its name from the characteristic and unpredictable nature of the soil, which is characterised by constant ups and downs on the various hills in the area. Azienda Leone de Castris has always believed and invested in the deep connection between wine and territory. This consists in the particularities of the resources, based on characteristics that are difficult to imitate, originality and the spirit of belonging to a specific geographical area."

Grilled meat or a hearty "pasta al forno", but also mature cheeses go well with this classic.

The intense ruby red color hints at the generosity of the bouquet of sweet spices, including vanilla and clove flowers, along with ripe red fruits that we find on the nose. On the palate it is soft and enveloping, with a dense texture of silky tannins and notes of vanilla and chocolate that make the sip long and persistent.
