Primitivo di Manduria is a DOC from Puglia in the south-eastern corner of Italy. It was introduced in 1974 at the same time as the Moscato di Trani and the Rosso di Cerignola, its counterparts from northern Apulia. Primitivo di Manduria is one of the oldest of the approximately 15 DOCs of Italy's "heel".

Pairing

This classic goes well with grilled meat or a strong “pasta al forno”, but also mature cheeses.
