Castello di Semivicoli is a Rosso from the Chieti area and Masciarelli's first red wine cuvée. The vines in the vineyards of the province of L'Aquila were planted by Gianni Masciarelli in 2003.
This characterful Rosso calls for hearty cuisine. It is the ideal accompaniment to tender saddle of lamb or robust grilled meat, with its silky tannins perfectly complementing the roasted flavours. It also shows its true class when paired with a selection of mature hard cheeses: the wine’s peppery notes and dark berry fruit provide an exciting contrast to the cheese’s savoury notes, ensuring a harmonious, long-lasting finish.
Strong purple red. Black berries and nice peppery notes on the nose with some tobacco, violet and vanilla. Strong and silky on the palate, fine-grained tannins and a wonderfully fruity finish.
