Castanar Merlot Ticino DOC 2019

The Castanar, developed and bottled for the first time in 1994, was the house's first wine. The name comes from the hundred-year-old chestnut trees that surround the vineyards of its origins. This has led to the winery's other wines being named after flowers and plants.

It goes well with grilled red meats, skewers and medium-ripened cheeses.

Dense ruby red, garnet nuances. A richly perfumed nose of ripe plums, strawberries, also a hint of dried plums. On the palate, a powerful, concentrated Merlot aroma meets a lot of elegance and suppleness, red fruity notes and balsamic scents; ripe tannins.
