San Leonardo IGT Trentino Alto Adige 2014

The grapes for the San Leonardo (average age of the vines 10 to 25 years) are harvested by hand and strictly selected. Fermentation on the skins takes place in large vats, followed by 6 months of ageing in 60 hl Slavonian oak barrels. The wine is then refined for 24 months in new and one to two year old French barriques and a further eight months in the bottle.

A noble accompaniment to festive meat dishes such as a saddle of venison or a whole duck, as well as mature cheese.

Dark ruby red with purple reflections. Extremely complex and dense on the nose, with notes of black berries, cedar wood and roasted aromas. On the palate it shows an attractive balance and already supple tannins, a harmoniously integrated acidity and aromas of black pepper, new leather and ripe, dark berries. Long-lasting and harmonious on the finish.
