The Asinone is Poliziano's flagship wine, coming from a vineyard whose shape is reminiscent of the back of a donkey. It is a deep, dense wine whose richness of finesse ranges from dark fruit, leather, tobacco and truffle aromas to fine smoky notes with delicate spicy elements, all combined in powerful elegance.
A nice accompaniment to strong meat dishes, game and spicy cheese.
The taste is also pleasing due to its beautiful balance. Round on the palate, with fine-grained tannins and a wide, persistent finish that exactly reflects the impressions from the scent.
