The Mediterranean climate of Campania with the influence of the nearby sea, the protective mountains as well as soils of volcanic origin offer an ideal basis for viticulture, red wines are produced for the most part. The red Aglianico variety in particular, especially in Avellino, produces full-bodied, colour-intensive and aromatic red wines. DOC wines account for only three percent of the total wine production, but the quality efforts of recent years are beginning to bear fruit.

Good accompaniment to soups, as well as sausages and hams and mature cheeses of middle age.

Seductive on the nose. Elegant character, soft and fruity even in early years. Flavor of plum with hints of violet and dried rose petals. Spicy finish, long and complex with silky tannins.
