Mosnel

The name Mosnel is a dialectal toponym of Celtic origin and originally referred to a pile of stones. However, Mosnel is also the name of the centuries-old estate with its 16th century wine cellars and the associated vineyards, which has been owned by the Barboglio family since 1836 and stands for a long wine-growing tradition. Under the management of Emanuela Barboglio, who sadly passed away in 2007, the company has specialised in wine production since 1968. The family-owned vineyards, totalling 40 hectares, are cultivated organically in accordance with European directives 834/2007 and 889/2008. Valoritalia carries out regular inspections to guarantee the highest possible quality of the grapes.

Elegant energy, subtle concentration, brilliant texture, incredibly intense persistence and great purity and precision. In the gleaming gold goblet with its fine perlage, the proportions between the dominant floral theme on the first nose with lemon blossom and verbena, and the bright fruit theme with notes of mandarin, ginger and crisp green apple are defined in the contours by menthol, pepper and saltiness nuances. The vinification in small oak barrels of the best Chardonnay grapes matured on the lees for more than 36 months supports the matter on the palate, refined by the lively citrus of bergamot with a dynamic made engaging by a crisp savouriness supported by the Extra Brut dosage, which enhances the delicate and aristocratic style of this Franciacorta.

A symphony of the best chardonnay, pinot blanc and pinot noir grapes from the family's historic vineyards, it has a multifaceted aromatic profile between enveloping notes of honeyed brioche, freshness of citrus peel and yellow apples in compote, jasmine tea, malted biscuit and nuances of passion fruit. The majesty of the sip is boosted by a freshness that is crisp and pressing on the palate, supported by a savouriness that underpins the creamy sip with a deep and multidimensional core of fruit, endowed with remarkable concentration and, at the same time, a tapered length on the finish with great balance.
